Pointed by critics as one of the best festivals of its kind in the world, Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival comes to its sixteenth edition. This year the Festival will be held from June 20th to 23rd, with a selection of the best current performers and performers, which will perform on 4 stages set up outdoors, with free shows.
Since its inception in 2003, Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival has held more than 550 concerts, 100 lectures and workshops for around 1 million viewers, stimulating interest in high-quality music and creating opportunities for the public to closely check some of the biggest names in jazz, blues and instrumental music nationally and internationally. Throughout this period, the Festival has remained faithful to its initial proposal, which is focused on educating the public, leveraging tourism, generating income, attracting business, offering culture, democratizing access to the cultural good through its total gratuity and promoting the economy through its continuity, which has been proven by studies done by FGV-RJ for four years, as well as assuming the social responsibility to extend its actions beyond the stages, creating partnerships in cultural and social projects throughout the year. All goals were and continue to be achieved.
The festival, held by Azul Produções with the support of the city of Rio das Ostras, through the Secretary of Culture, is part of the official calendar of events of the State of Rio de Janeiro, due to its importance.
