Keeping you connected: Fast, free Wi-Fi now on most transatlantic routes; coming to regional jets

Delta’s industry-leading Wi-Fi rollout is about to hit another milestone: As of early April, all customers flying across Delta’s transatlantic network to Europe, Israel and West Africa will have access to fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile.

It’s a major step toward Delta’s goal of bringing free Wi-Fi to its entire global fleet (after having already completed rollout to the entire domestic mainline fleet) – connectivity at an unprecedented scale, unmatched across the industry. Plus, the journey continues as the Wi-Fi rollout expands to routes serving South America, which Delta expects to complete later this spring.

But even for those not flying overseas, the Wi-Fi rollout is quickly coming closer to home for many customers: this spring, Delta outfitted the first of its fleet of more than 400 regional jets—a CRJ-700—with fast, free Wi-Fi and entered service.

As part of that connectivity upgrade, Delta will equip its entire Boeing 717 fleet with a first-of-its-kind solution that sets a new standard for connectivity in commercial aviation. The solution enables simultaneous dual-network connectivity to deliver the best possible online experience—which means seamless streaming to personal devices and superior performance across Delta’s network.

Stay connected from gate to gate with Delta Sync Wi-Fi. Once boarding doors close, SkyMiles Members can instantly access the internet on one or more of their devices – no need to wait until they reach 10,000 feet. Customers on domestic and exit-U.S. flights can stream the latest from Paramount+ on their devices; access offers from brands they love; find travel inspiration for their journey (as well as real-time updates for their trip); challenge themselves with games and puzzles from New York Times Games; play the retro-style Sky Hopper game for a chance to win a $400 gift card; browse unique gifts and Centennial-branded merch in Delta Sync Wi-Fi's onboard Delta Shop; and so much more. Delta Sync Wi-Fi unlocks a world of connectivity, right at your fingertips.

Delta expects dual-network connectivity retrofits to begin Q4, with the entire 717 fleet expected to be complete by early 2026.

Coming in late 2026, select new delivery A350-1000 and A321neo aircraft will also be outfitted with dual-network connectivity solution, further enhancing our next-generation Delta Sync seatback experience. As announced at CES, the next-gen seatback experience will include intelligent 4K HDR QLED displays, Bluetooth® capabilities, advanced personalization capabilities, and more.

“Thanks to the dedication and expertise of Delta teams, we’re making enormous strides in our efforts to bring fast, free Wi-Fi to every aircraft in our fleet—which in turn will transform our aircraft into personalized platforms where customers can connect and engage in meaningful new ways,” said Ranjan Goswami, S.V.P. – Customer Experience Design. “With the addition of our pioneering dual-network connectivity solution to 717s and forthcoming A350-1000 and A321neo new deliveries, we’re unlocking new possibilities for what it means to stay connected in the air.”

Taste of summer: Delta refreshes onboard offerings for the season

Seasonal flavors and refreshing sips take flight this summer as the airline rolls out new menu items, new partnerships and more choices for customers.

Share

In its Centennial year, Delta remains dedicated to providing an elevated onboard experience that puts comfort, luxury and customer choice at its center. This is highlighted by the airline’s recent expansion of its Missoni partnership in Delta One, launching an exclusive Delta One collection inclusive of bespoke bedding on international flights and a suite of amenities, and now several enhanced onboard food and beverage offerings.

Delta takes the art of sleeping above the clouds to new heights with upgrades for its most premium cabin, Delta One, noting the sleep experience is customers’ top priority throughout the onboard experience.

With premium as the north star and summer travel in full swing – temperatures are rising and so are cravings for refreshing new flavors.

“Summer is a season of adventure and relaxation for many of our customers. It’s a time when indulgence takes center stage, which we actively work to extend to the food, meals and beverages that enhance the journey,” said Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Onboard Culinary Experience. “With this in mind, we’re excited to evolve our onboard offerings monthly, rolling out fresh new flavors and options that match what customers tell us they want.”

Sip, Savor and Explore: International Route Delights

Now is the time for customers to visit the most-searched summer destinations, and Delta’s international routes are getting a culinary upgrade.

In May, Delta launched its first-ever flight to Sicily with new, daily non-stop service between New York-JFK and Catania. As the only direct connection between Catania and the U.S., the route’s new menu items are just as unique – such as a delicious spinach and ricotta rotolo with cherry tomato sauce and fried basil leaves that can be found in Delta One.

In July, Delta One customers* can also try dishes that define the essence of summer, like handmade artichoke ravioli with panna sauce, roasted cherry tomatoes and Parmesan. While previously offered exclusively on flights out of Atlanta, overwhelmingly positive customer feedback has driven the expansion of James Beard award-winning chef Mashama Bailey’s dishes to additional international and domestic routes. As such, customers in the mood for savory, tangy flavors should try Chef Bailey’s shrimp and grits, with spicy creole sauce and scallions, available on select flights*.

Refined palates take flight: Delta One wine refresh

Nothing says summer like a crisp white. Delta’s award-winning onboard wine program refreshes every three months in an effort to offer customers both comfort classics and introduce them to new, more adventurous wines. Earlier this year, Delta introduced a partnership with Taittinger, bringing more luxurious beverage options to Delta One customers.

This spring, Delta will begin serving Champagne Taittinger in its Delta One cabin on international flights.

This season’s wine program includes five varietals each in both domestic and international Delta One. The airline caught up with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, who also serves as Delta’s wine consultant, to hear why she loves this upcoming selection.

“The wonderful thing about travel is that we experience new places, cultures and culinary explorations,” said Andrea Robinson, Master Sommelier and Delta Wine Consultant. “Delta does a great job bringing that ethos onboard with their wine program highlighting both classic regions as well as up-and-comers.”

The airline also continues its successful partnership with women-owned and women-made wine brand Une Femme, bringing their first-ever still wine cans onboard, available in Delta Comfort and Delta Main. At the beginning of the year, Delta customers enjoyed an exclusive first taste of Une Femme’s new Chardonnay and Red Blend California wines before the products’ national retail launch in June. These wines join Une Femme’s flagship wine, The Betty (sparkling brut), available across all cabins and one of the most popular choices for customers.

Personalization Expands to Delta Comfort

The team also expanded its popular advanced meal selection option to Delta Comfort, further differentiating the experience and giving customers greater personalization and control. As of May 2025, customers in international Delta Comfort can prepare for their upcoming journey by selecting meal options ahead of time, choosing from chipotle chicken or mushroom mezzaluna.

This option is now available to Delta Comfort customers on transoceanic and long-haul Hawaii flights with meal service, with a few exceptions.* Customers can select their meal in advance beginning seven days prior to departure, either via an email link or on the Fly Delta app. Customers must make their selection within 24 hours before departure.

*

*This service excludes limited markets including BOG, KEF, UIO, and LIM due to length of haul.

Farmer’s Fridge, Cheez-It and Shake Shack – Oh My!

You asked, Delta listened. In response to customer desire for additional healthy meal options onboard, Delta began offering selections from Farmer’s Fridge for purchase on select flights for a limited time*. After receiving overwhelmingly positive customer and employee feedback, Delta has made the Farmer’s Fridge items the standard Fresh Flight Fuel option on flights over 1500 miles departing LAX. Customers can choose from a variety of chef-curated meals from either the morning or afternoon and evening assortments.

“At Delta, we are always testing and learning in service of our customer preferences and needs,” said Laster. “Our hope with Farmer’s Fridge is that these meal choices will elevate the experience by providing chef-crafted, fresh foods they can enjoy at 30,000 feet.”

*

*Farmer’s Fridge will be available on select routes exit-LAX through the end of July.

A fan-favorite snack is back: Cheez-It® baked snack crackers make their return on board this summer! The perfect cheesy, crunchy, complement to the airline’s iconic Biscoff cookie, with Garden Salsa SunChips rounding out the snack line up in Delta Main. Whether customers are craving something sweet or savory, Delta’s got it covered.

Now, even more customers are enjoying the sought-after Shake Shack burger with the expansion to seven new cities in June and the addition of Detroit in early July. Delta First customers flying on routes more than 900 miles can enjoy Shake Shack’s Cheeseburger onboard, complete with 100% Angus beef, a toasted potato bun, ShackSauce and toppings, so customers can create their own ShackBurger©. Along with the Cheeseburger, the meal features Crinkle Cut Potato Chips [inspired by Shake Shack’s fan-favorite Crinkle Cut Fries] and a rich dark chocolate brownie with crunch cocoa nibs and flaky seat salt, inspired by Shake Shack’s beloved Shack Attack Concrete, and developed by the Shake Shack team specifically for this partnership.

The most recent expansion makes the iconic burgers available in a total of 13 markets*, including each of Delta’s hub cities – spanning coast-to-coast – and allows connecting customers across the country to enjoy the familiar taste of a classic American meal, no matter where their travels may take them.

*

*Markets include Boston (BOS), Atlanta (ATL), Salt Lake City (SLC), New York-LaGuardia (LGA), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis (MSP), Orlando (MCO), Miami (MIA), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), Las Vegas (LAS), Detroit (DTW), and Seattle (SEA)]
