Maybe the poolside one-upmanship was just too much: when it came to Hawaiian resorts, it was the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai (rated for facilities and community investment) rather than its sister hotel in Maui, with its White Lotus setting, that landed on the list this year. In Europe you rated the facilities of Six Senses Ibiza, including its spa’s shamanic smoke cleansing, and the design of Ikos Dassia on Corfu. In the resort metaverse of the Indian Ocean, One&Only Reethi Rah and Soneva Fushi had crystal-clear scores in most categories, sending them snorkelling to the top.
