Edinburgh Airport is strategically located in the Scottish capital serving a catchment area of more than 4 million inhabitants. With traffic of 14.4 million pax in 2023, EDI currently serves over 150 destinations in 38 countries. VINCI Airports will become majority investor of Edinburgh Airport! I’m delighted and proud to announce that we have signed an agreement to acquire the majority shareholding in Edinburgh airport, Scotland’s premier airport and sixth in the United Kingdom. Besides being Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh is the second most prosperous city in the UK and one of the main tourist destinations on the British Isles. The relationship between France and Scotland goes back a long way. As far back as the Auld Alliance – which is, I hope, an indication of how long will be the one between EDI and VINCI Airports. With this move indeed, VINCI Airports expands its network with a third freehold airport in the UK, following on from Belfast International Airport and London Gatwick, and more than 70 airports across the world. #TrafficResults Over 62 million passengers travelled through airports in VINCI Airports network in Q1 2024, 12% more than in Q1 2023. Overall traffic slightly outpaces 2019 levels, for the second consecutive quarter, buoyed by the strong results achieved in Portugal, Serbia, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. 🛫 Aujourd'hui, VINCI Concessions et VINCI Airports célèbrent une étape majeure : l’Aéroport International de Toulon Hyères est le premier aéroport français à atteindre zéro émission nette sur son périmètre d'activités (scopes 1 et 2) ! En présence de Jean-Pierre Giran, Président de la Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, de Xavier Huillard, Président-directeur général de VINCI, et de Nicolas Notebaert, Directeur général de VINCI Concessions et Président de VINCI Airports, cet événement a permis de présenter le plan d’actions environnemental de l’aéroport Toulon Hyères, mené sous l’impulsion de VINCI Airports, gestionnaire de l’aéroport depuis 2015. Ce plan a permis de réduire les émissions directes de CO2 de la plateforme de 92,5% entre 2018 et 2022. Cette journée était également l’occasion d’inaugurer la nouvelle centrale solaire en ombrières de l’aéroport. Opérée par SunMind, elle pourra produire jusqu’à 690 MWh par an pour alimenter l’aéroport. Le surplus de production sera injecté dans le réseau urbain. We have today released our 2023 full-year results. A huge thank you to all of our colleagues and partners for making 2023 such a successful year at London Gatwick. An amazing 40.9 million passengers passed through our airport last year and they can now choose to travel directly to 220 global destinations with 56 different airlines. Our work on sustainability continues to evolve with our Decade of Change commitments and a £250 million-plus investment to to becoming a net zero airport by 2030 for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Our focus is now on delivering a brilliant service to our passengers through what we expect will be a busy Easter and Summer period and we're excited about the future as we become the airport for everyone, whatever their journey.
