Setting sail on a sailboat to the most inhospitable — and icy — continent on the planet is certainly not a mission for just anyone. A crew of sea lovers took on the challenge and this saga is now coming to Canal Náutica. You will follow the journey to Antarctica in the series “Endurance 64: the polar sailboat”, in partnership with Yanmar engines. It was Cícero Vieira, the owner of the Endurance 64, who selected the diverse and skilled team of navigators for the expedition. Together, the crew set sail from the Port of Santos, in Brazil, and faced icy waters, biting cold and the feared Drake Passage until they set foot in Antarctica. The documentary will show everything from the beauty of the frozen land, with almost untouched landscapes and places where nature takes over, to the challenges faced by the crew. Designed by Thierry Stump, a Belgian who adopted Brazil as his home, and completely renovated in 2021, the boat pays homage, with its name, to the legendary Endurance vessel, of Sir Ernest Shackleton — the most famous navigator passionate about Antarctica.
