At the 2025 SFEE Summit, Yannis Pandis - Site Lead for Pfizer Thessaloniki and Head of our Center for Digital Innovation - joined the panel on “Harnessing Health Data” to discuss how collaboration, AI, and the European Health Data Space (EHDS) can transform the future of healthcare in Greece. He provided an example from a former Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) project, showing the value and efficiencies created by integrating clinical and molecular data, with the input and guidance from all key stakeholders. “Finland and others show how effective data collection can work. But it all starts with quality - garbage in, garbage out”, he said. 📍 Building on our successful investment in Thessaloniki, we are now focused on creating a strong, collaborative Pfizer ecosystem in Greece, aligned with our global organizational structure. #PfizerGreece #DigitalHealth #CenterforDigitalInnovation #HealthData #Innovation #SFEE2025

A new report commissioned by IFPMA and developed by The Health Policy Partnership (HPP) explores the intersection between four major #NCDs – cancer, cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic respiratory disease (CRD), and diabetes – and four key vaccine-preventable respiratory infections – COVID-19, influenza, pneumococcal disease, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). 💡 NCDs affect one in three people globally, and their financial impact is projected to reach USD 47 trillion by 2030. Investing in integrated NCD prevention and control is more urgent than ever. Adult #immunization offers a cost-effective, evidence-based way to protect people living with NCDs against common respiratory infections. The report outlines how policy- and decision-makers can ensure all people living with NCDs receive the immunizations they need to live long, healthy lives. 📘 Learn more and read the full report: https://ifpma.info/45xrW6L

The 'Underserved Within' Phenomenon - An Important Perspective on Vaccination Disparities   Despite advancements in healthcare, vaccination rates in Europe are still not meeting targets. This problem is especially bad in marginalized communities like the traveling population and new immigrants.   Another important group that is often overlooked are people from mixed economic backgrounds within the same communities. These "underserved within" face complex barriers to getting vaccinated. This includes issues with access, not trusting information sources, and economic differences.   To address these complex differences, we need tailored, grassroots efforts to understand individual perspectives and situations. Ensuring equitable access to healthcare, regardless of socioeconomic status, is crucial.   Pfizer has partnered with the Association Excellence in Pediatrics Institute to release a new report on this important, often overlooked issue in public health. It's a must-read for anyone interested in driving more inclusive and effective vaccination strategies. https://lnkd.in/eHKmeGEa

6 Facts You (Maybe) Didn’t Know About Vaccines Vaccines are one of humanity’s greatest accomplishments – heroes of global health, the passion and pride of so many of us who work with rigor and ingenuity to move science forward. No other medical intervention comes close to rivaling their impact on human health and longevity, something we should all be thankful for. In recognition of World Immunization Week, I am sharing 6 numbers that remind us of their impact. ⏰  6 people per minute - on average, that’s how many people across the globe have had their lives saved over the last 50 years as a result of vaccinations. That’s 154 million people who were given a chance to live, thanks to vaccines. 🦠 20+ life-threatening diseases have vaccines available to help prevent them. Thanks to vaccines, we’ve been able to eliminate or nearly eliminate diseases like smallpox and polio. 👶 4 million deaths are prevented worldwide each year from childhood vaccinations. With their developing immune systems, the germs that babies and children encounter can lead to serious disease – vaccines help protect our most vulnerable. 💉 14.5 million children across the world did not receive a single dose of a vaccine in 2023, despite their benefits. We must do more to ensure access to lifesaving vaccines, particularly for children. 👴 👵 65+ - at this age, people are particularly vulnerable to infectious diseases like flu, COVID-19, pneumococcal pneumonia and RSV. Vaccines can help them prevent serious illness that could result in hospitalization or death. ❤️🩹  1.5 million additional lives could be saved globally each year, just by improving access to existing vaccines. #WorldImmunizationWeek isn’t just about celebrating the successes of vaccines – it’s about building on those successes and fighting to protect the hard-fought gains we’ve made against vaccine-preventable diseases. Thank you to everyone at Pfizer and the global health community focused on vaccine innovation in one way or another. You personally inspire me every day. Please take a moment to celebrate the impact of your work and leave a comment on what vaccines mean to you. Most importantly, make sure to keep your own vaccination status up to date, no matter your age! #VaccinesWork #HumanlyPossible #AlwaysInnovating
